Faith, Heritage &
Community in NJ

Haali-Pular New Jersey (HPNJ), publicly operating as the Fouta Islamic Center of New Jersey (FICNJ), is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organized exclusively for charitable, religious, educational, and cultural purposes. We promote the unity, Islamic values, and cultural heritage of the Fulani (Pular) community in New Jersey and surrounding areas.

The Fulani (Fulbe) people are present in more than twenty countries across West and Central Africa. Our organization draws on this rich heritage to create a sense of belonging and identity for Fulani descendants living in New Jersey and throughout the United States. Membership is open to all individuals who support our mission, regardless of background or ethnicity.

Our flagship project is the construction of a permanent mosque at 475 Springfield Avenue, Newark, NJ 07103 — a spiritual and cultural hub for Fulani families and friends, and a beacon of Islamic values for all of New Jersey.
